"Highly recommended. The brand new SL-1500CS merges the legendary SL-1200 DJ turntable series with modern Hi-Fi turntable design & major tech upgrades. The SL-1500CS uses Technics' ΔΣ-Drive coreless motor, the same high-torque direct drive motor previously reserved for their Grand Class line. The 1500 series removes the speed control slide (a DJ feature) and adds a phono preamp + Ortofon 2M Red cartridge (for easy plug+play). For added convenience, the SL-1500CS also features a semi-automatic tonearm, which will lift the cartridge at the end of the record. Finally, the 1500CS' sleek, Metallic Grey finish is a first in the Hi-Fi giant's catalogue." - TTL
'S' Model Upgrades from SL-1500C

iron-coreless ΔΣ-Drive (Delta Sigma Drive) powered motor - previously only available in Technics Grand Class models
higher torque motor: 2.2 kg x cm vs. the 1500C's 1.8kg x cm
Metallic Grey finish exclusive to the SL-1500CS
aluminum die-cast chassis integrated w/ a two-layer construction of ABS & glass-fiber

"The ΔΣ-Drive technology, taking sophisticated signal processing techniques used in our full-digital Technics amplifiers, is all about eliminating motor vibrations down to the very limits of measurable. Therefore, lighter turntable platforms with lighter platter construction benefit greatly from the vibration elimination of the ΔΣ-Drive. Through this, the new SL-1500CS achieves sonic performance levels far beyond the perceived standards of its class." - Technics
